Pilot Officer David Warnock Burke from Hamilton, ON was killed in action on March 31, 1944 age 25 and was part of 640 Squadron. Halifax aircraft #LW 500 was shot down by a German flak ship off Dieppe, France during a mission over Nuremburg Germany. Six RAF members of the crew were also killed. This was P/O Burke's fourth operation and his was one of 108 allied aircraft lost that night.
