Canada Red Ensign flag with Union jack in upper left corner on a red field. Included is a shield displaying images from the shields of nine provinces. Surrounding is a laurel of maple leafs with a crown on top and a beaver underneath. This flag is often referred to as the nine (9) province flag due to that the nine provinces of 1907 are all represented in the combined shield. From left to right the provinces are: Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, BC, PEI, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. This flag was in use as the national flag of Canada from 1907 to 1922 when the shield of the arms of the provinces was replaced with the shield from the Royal Arms of Canada
