75 mm artillery shell casing said by donor to be from WWI. Shell casing has been turned into "Trench Art" Brass has been scratched and carved to create a design. The design is of a crown above a lion in a shield with the numbers 1914. Word L'yzer below Shield. and "Souvenir De Diksmuide" above crown. L'yzer appears to possibly be a spelling mistake ( Ypres?) Diksmuide is a city in Belgium in the Flanders region. markings on bottom surface read : 75 DE C SD C 1490L 16 C
