box holding Bomb sight Mk. IXA serial number 6626/40. box has a black metal handle on top with front opening door. Wooden box is painted brown with serial numbers and markings on front of door in a light brown/beige colour. Stenciled lettering reads: Ref No 9/483 COURSE SETTING BOB SIGHT Mk IX A NOVOBAX Ltd SERIAL No 6626/40 Box is missing locking components along interior of main box and one set on door (proper left). Wood block on proper right side of top surface has been reattached with replacement screws, grey in colour. Instructions to storing Bombsight are adhered to interior of door. drawer along top of interior holds seven extra sights and five distance markers to be attached to arms of Bombsight. Compass needles from emptied chamber of bomb sight also housed in drawer.
