Aircraft piece beleieved to be taken by 2nd Lt. Jacob E. Mott while stationed in France during WWI. Story as told to donor is that the piece was from a German aircraft that was shot down. Jacob E. Mott trained as an observer at the School of Military Aeronautics in 1917. On August 21 he was assigned to No. 21 Squadron RFC with two Corps on the Ypres France line. killed in action on 23 December 1917.
