Description
This is a standard RCAF Women's Division pair of uniform shoes uniform issued to Frances June Matthews. Frances joined the RCAF at Hamilton Ontario on 11 March, 1943. She was discharged from active service with the rank of LAW at Calgary, Alberta on 05 February, 1945. The shoes are black leather with a semi-high heel. The interior is mid brown tanned leather. The inscription W 75 3R9/35 15 is stamped on the right side of the interior . The left shoe is stamped W 75 3T4472 11 in the same place as the right shoe. The right shoe is stamped 7 1/2 W on the instep ahead of the heel. There is no apparent corresponding marking on the left shoe.
