An RAF Air Ministry Type 09A hand-held prismatic compass with wooden case. The compass housing is metal and the handle is bakelite. The compass is not liquid-filled. On the bezel around the compass face it is marked Type 06A, AFT, No.17980.H, AM under a crown and REF. No 6A/1248.
