Description
A pair of 7x50 prismatic rubber armoured binoculars manufactured by Ernst Letz of Wetzlar Germany. They are of a type that were used on board E-boats during WWII. The eyepieces, tops of the prism housings and the body at the objective lenses are rubber armoured. Focusing is accomplished by employing a diopter adjustment ring on each eyepiece lens. The top of the right hand prism housing is marked beh 440701, beh being the Waffenamt code for Ernst Leitz and 440701 the serial number. 7x50, indicating the degree of magification and the diameter of the objective lenses also appears on the top of this prism housing. The prism housings and body tubes are painted with a rugged, textured black paint.
