Description
A brown leather RAF waist-length flight jacket with fleece lining, collar, cuffs and waist. There is a brown leather belt at the front of the waist. The jacket was issued to Pilot Officer Ronald J. De Val. A cloth label sewn inside the jacket below the collar is marked with a double circle containing the letters H&E over a numeral 4. There is a broad arrow to the right of the circle. The size, 3, appears just below the broad arrow. The numbers 318 are handwritten in ink to the right of the size number. Below all of the above, the following is stamped: Height: 5'7-8, Breast. 45 Waist: 44. The surname De Val is hand printed in blue ink below this. The number 10421 is also printed on the label as well as Ref. No. 29A/846. The reference number has been crossed out with a black ink line and the numbers 22/319 appear below it.
