Description
Small collection of souvenirs believed to have been collected by F/O J.A. Kerr during World War Two. The first item in a German Iron Cross that appears to be "trench art" by someone during the war, it appears to have been hand cut and painted with a small hole drilled in the top. The Iron Cross is 2"x2" and made of lightweight metal (aluminum?), it has some wear and a couple of scratches on it. The second item seems to be an identification plate of some sort of vehicle or piece of machinery. The first line on the plate is Sach-Nr (item number) 210 784 Z001 and the second line is Werk-Nr (serial number) 1209648. The plate is 2"x.25" with a hole drilled on either end (the right hole is damaged and seems to have been torn loose from what it was attached to) and is black (with white lettering) where the words are and plain metal with stamped numbers where the numbers are and it is made of made of lightweight metal (aluminum?). The plate is in poor shape with some dents and damage (see above) and has some brown discolouration along the bottom. The third and final item is a Belgian flag lapel pin which looks to have been commercially made as a souvenir. The pin is 1"x.5" with a 2" pin attached to the back. The pin is in poor shape, most of the red and some of the yellow paint on the flag has chipped away and the pin is tarnished.
