Description

A 10ft/6ft Canadian Red Ensign 1922-1957 - Which was the Canadian National Flag as well as the Flag of the Canadian Army. The Flag has the Union Jack, as well as a Crest which shows the founding nations of Canada: Britain, Scotland, Ireland, France, which is connected at the base of the crest by a single stem bearing 3 green maple leaves. The Leaves were green until they were changed to Red in 1957 - both red and green are heraldic colours and so the change to red was not too difficult. The flag was likely flown outside a military base or government office, but could also have been flown indoors and at a less official building.
