Description

Two medals issued to Olive Creasor for her service in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. The medal on the left is the 1939-45 Medal and the medal on the right is the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal.

Provenance

Olive was born in Parry Sound, Ontario and moved to Hamilton in 1929. She joined the R.C.A.F. in 1943 and trained as Wireless Operator in Montreal and later taught wireless to Air Gunners on stations in Ontario and Quebec. After discharge from the RCAF, Olive returned to teaching in Hamilton as well as with the Big Sister Association for six months. She attended night classes at McMaster University and summer classes at University of Toronto and in the fall of 1946 took a two year course in Social Work.
