APPLY AT RECRUITING STATION

Description

This recruitment poster calls upon Canadians to join the army by referencing those Canadian soldiers who suffered terrible casualties during the dual battles of St Julien and Festubert in April and May 1915. The Canadians sustained over 6,000 casualties - a third of the First Canadian Division, but still managed to achieve most of their objectives, including capturing the town of Festubert and securing the reputation of the Canadians as capable soldiers.
