During World War II Canada had risen its aeronautical manufacturing to new heights and turned the skies yellow over the British Commonwealth Air Training bases established across the country. To provide the thousands of trainers needed for the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan, traditional commercial aircraft manufacturers like de Havilland Canada, Fleet, Noorduyn and Fairchild built trainer aircraft, examples in our museum hangar include the Fleet Finch for elementary flying training and Fleet Forts for wireless training.
