INSTRUCTIONS.

Initial issue of Flying Kit will when possible be made at School of preliminary instruction and will be recorded on Page 2.
Should it be impossible to make an initial issue of complete outfit, the unissued articles will be issued in any subsequent Unit upon production of this Card in proof of entitlement.
Such subsequent issue to complete Kit to scale will be recorded on this Card in the same manner as initial issues.
In the event of an Officer being unable to produce this card, it will be assumed that his Kit has been complete to scale. Commanding Officers will not sanction any free issue to complete Kit to scale unless entitlement is proved by production of this Card.
Flying Kit issued to an Officer remains the property of the Public, and must be surrendered when the Officer to whom issued ceases to be employed on flying duties. The Officer Commanding Unit in which an Officer is serving when he ceases to be employed in flying duties is responsible that Flying Clothing is returned to Unit’s store, and that any deficient articles are charged for. This Card will then be endorsed accordingly and returned to the Officer concerned.
Flying Kit remains on the personal charge of the Officer to whom issued and must be retained by him during the whole time he remains employed on flying duties.
Flying Kit of an Officer admitted to hospital will be stored with his personal belongings and forwarded to him with them.
Articles worn-out will be replaced free on production and surrender of the worn-out articles.
Articles lost on active service through the exigencies of the campaign, or whilst actually flying, or destroyed in an aeroplane accident, will be replaced free provided a certificate, signed by the Officer Commanding Unit in which the loss or damage occurred, is produced.
Obsolete articles replaced by new types will be surrendered and taken into store.
