Description
The document titled memorandum, File NO. S. 112-3 A.D.O. Toronto? Interesting that Toronto has a question mark (maybe unsure of whether this is where Foley was staying at the time). The document states visit Air Commodore, His Royal Highness, the Duke of Kent and is told to part to: London, ON, Thursday August 28, 1941 at 1500hrs, and arrive at Arsouries 15:10 E.D.T. Then, states that the party will be met on the Wharneliffe Road, at the outskirt of London, by local police/military motorcycle escort. Then, proceed along Wharnecliffe Road to Dundas Street to Armouries. The detachment of Duchess of Kent Branch, the Canadian Legion will be lined up on both sides of entrance to Armouries. The document then lists those involved including Generals, Civillian Managers, London Mayor etc. The document then states leave Armouries at 15:44, Arrive at the Active Service Club 15:50, leave active service club 16:00, arrive at the airport- No.4 Air Observers School gate, through hangers and apron proceeding to Trans Canada Airlines terminal, where NO.4 A.O.S. and NO. 3 E.F.T.S. Complete Personel will be drawn up on either side of the apron at 16:20. Then states, leave airport 16:40 and the Royal Party will leave cars, and proceed to insoect schools, or direct aircraft. The document is concluded at the end with S.M. Black and Mayor Heaman, and Colonel G.J. Ingram.
