Leather Rifle Scabbard. WWII issue rifle scabbard possibly for a M1 Rifle. Reddish brown leather scabbard which is fashioned together by eleven metal rivets and stitching. Two dark green nylon strap retainers, one in the front and the other in the back, are secured near the top and widest part of the scabbard with two rivets each.

Last of the Cavalry issue scabbards for horse mounted troops. Used throughout WWII to attach the M1 Rifle to motorcycles, jeeps and other vehicles where quick access to the M1 Rifle was a must. Marked by manufactured around 1942.
