Provenance
The items in this donation belonged to Capt. Hiram F.Davison. He went overseas with the RFC which soon turned into the RAF. There he served wtih No. 22 Squadron flying Bristol Fighters and other aircraft. Before he was wounded in action on April 13, 1918 Davison scored 12 victories and was awarded the Military Cross along with the title of Ace. Hiram F. Davison died in 1973. After his military career, this flight helmet was often worn by his family members when shoveling snow!
