A Wartime Log, sent to prisoners of war by the Y.M.C.A. (Gifted from The War Prisoners' Aid of the Y.M.C.A. 37, Quai Wilson, Geneva - Switzerland) which belonged to F/L Andrew N Orr
Cardboard, paper, glue.
Beginning in 1943, the War Prisoners Aid of the YMCA dedicated to the spiritual, educational, and recreational needs of POWs supplied blank journals for inclusion in Red Cross Aid packages bound for Europe. Surviving journals offer a glimpse into the thoughts and frustrations of those in the camps, often containing anecdotes, sketches and keepsakes.
