RCAF AUXILIARY COMMAND CHANGE - In an impressive ceremony yesterday command of No. 16 RCAF Auxiliary Wing was turned over by Group Captain Douglas B. Annan, DFC, AFC, CD., to Group Captain David Goldberg, DFC. Witnessing the change was Air Commodore E. M. Reyno, vice-commander of the Air Defence Command, St. Hubert, Quebec. He is seen here in the centre with GC Annan on the left and GC Goldberg on the right.

With jets and Mustangs screaming overhead, and the RCAF band playing down below, the 16 Wing, RCAF Auxiliary, changed command yesterday in an impressive ceremony at Mount Hope RCAF Station.
Group Captain Douglas Annan, D.F.C., A.F.C., C.D., stepped down from his command position to make way for Group Captain David Goldberg, D.F.C., who stepped up to take his place.
A large gathering of citizens and a number of government civic and military dignitaries were on hand to take part in the colourful proceedings.
Air Commodore E. M. Reyno of St. Hubert, Quebec, vice commander of the Air Defence Command, took the salute as both the retiring and the newly appointed CO’s marched past with the members of the wing.
Air Commodore Reyno welcomed the new commanding officer and paid tribute to the work done over the past number of years by Group Captain Annan.
“The name of DOug Annan has become well known in the Royal Canadian Air FOrce both reserve and permanent. Although he is retiring we know he is there to help us if we need advice,” the air commodore said.
Mayor Lloyd D. Jackson, Thomas Ross MP, Russell Reinke MP, Magistrate Beamer W. Hopkins, Lt.-Col. F. C. Brown, Lt.-Col. John Farnan, Commander J. H. Curtis and other officials were present at the change-over.
Following the change of command ceremony at the air station, the officers and their guests gathered at the officers’ mess on James Street South.
